Step-by-Step Protocol for Using Bioimage ANalysis Desktop
Create an account:
Register using your Google account.
Launch a Desktop:
Once registration is complete, you will see the main page with three sections:
Desktop configurations
Running desktops
Usage history
In Desktop configurations, specify the value for each of the following parameters:
No. of CPUs
Memory(gb)
No. of GPUs
Resolution
Time(days)
In running desktops, click “Go to desktop” to open your virtual desktop.
Access Remote Data from BAND desktops(Connecting Google drive via Rclone):
Before mounting your Google drive, you must create a mount point (a folder) in your home directory.
Start the Rclone client from: Applications > Data Access > RCLONE GUI. A page will open in your web browser.
Click “Remotes” in the top menu, then click “Add new remote”.
Give the new remote a name and select ‘Google drive’ as the type. Click the blue ‘Create Remote’ button.
A browser window will open for Google authentication. Once completed, you will see a “Success” message.
Go back to the Rclone GUI to connect to Google drive.
Click “Mount” in the top menu, then click “New mount”.
In “Remote”, select the remote you just created.
Under “Mount point”, enter the folder path you created in your home directory.
Click the blue “Create mount” button.
You should see the contents of your Google drive in the folder you specified as the mount point.
